I have arrived in Zapata Texas after a 240 mile drive from Del Rio and a stop at Wal-Mart in Laredo to fill the pantry. I have already seen Geno, Annis & Harley, Gary and Louise (who beat me by one day) and Jackie and Bob. Surprising it seems to be business as usual down here and nobody is wearing body armor. As a matter of fact the town was quite quiet. Probably because most of the winter Texans haven't arrived yet. I arrived in a downpour, the first rain they've had in two weeks. It ended up being about a quarter of an inch. Go figure. So far I have just set up the electricity, I always like to do that in the rain. I'll wait to hook up water and sewer when things dry out a bit.
Now it's time to relax and unwind and begin to settle in in preparation for enjoying the good life.
