Today is a day of rest with lots of football games to watch and with little else going on in the park I will be taking full advantage of what the tube has to offer.
Yesterday there were a couple of events of note. The first was the arrival of John and Jeanie who got in from Missouri about 3:00 pm. Gary, Pat and I formed the official welcoming committee and I stayed around long enough to help get them leveled on their site. Then it was off to Angels with Larry for the first chicken fried steak of the season. I again opted for the small portion which only filled three quarters of a platter. I've never had the large portion, but I understand it's delivered by forklift. One thing about the restaurants down here is that if you leave hungry it's your own dang fault.
After arriving back at Mel it was a short wait until the arrival of my neighbors, Harley and Annis, They had gone to Laredo 'just to look' at new cars, nothing serious, you know. So much for plan A as they returned driving a new Ford Expedition and the Dodge truck had been left behind. It does your heart good to watch an 80+ year old man act like a kid in a candy store with his new toy. Tours were given last night in the dark and then repeated this morning in the light of day to all who were interested.
Now it's off to watch Missouri play Texas A&M and sit back and enjoy the good life.
