Last night's battle

One thing about the desert environment was very apparent last night. When the heat builds up all day it can unleash a monstrous thunderstorm come evening. Last night was a good example. Once it unleashed it was a continuous lightning show for about 5 hours. Lightning was bouncing off of the surrounding peaks and the was a lot of cloud to cloud activity. The sounds echoed back and forth across the mountains and it sounded like we were in a very busy bowling alley. All of this activity brought a grand total of zero inches of rain, but it did relieve a lot of stress in the atmosphere. It also lowered the temperature a bit. Last nights low was 89 degrees. Today there is a slight breeze and we are at 93 degrees on the way to 110. I expect this wimp to be staying pretty close to the air conditioner again today.

This afternoon will be spent figuring out ways to enjoy the good life when I leave here and head back toward the east.
