Busy day

The day started off with a plan to go to Wal-Mart for a pantry restocking, but first a call was made to the doctor's office to attempt to set an appointment for next Thursday knowing that is the only day he is in town. Well there was only one appointment available next Thursday during the heat of the day at 4:00 pm. After explaining I would be riding buses in the heat the lady was apparently moved to sympathy and offered an appointment for this morning at 10 am. This worked out fine. Mel was already disconnected for the trip to Wal-Mart so with a change of direction it was off to the doctor. All went well and we don't have to return for six months. I'm free to travel, with one problem. When I checked in yesterday I figured on being here a couple of weeks, so I requested my mail be sent and placed a couple of internet orders. Now I am stuck in the heat until they arrive. Yesterday it reached 115 degrees, but last night a thunderstorm blew in with 30 mph winds, a lot of lightening and about 5 drops of rain. That really cooled things off and it was only 90 degrees when I got up at 6 am this morning. We are at 111 right now and it's only 1 pm here. How hot is that you ask, well......I have to run the water through the water heater to cool it down.

I did get a few pictures of the park this morning. By the way, Mr. Canon is back in business, new batteries, a good cleaning and a few adjustments was all it took. It is a nice place, but I'm sure it would be lots better in the winter.
This is my view to the west. The sites are plenty wide with concrete patios and each site has a picnic table.
This is looking up the road towards the clubhouse, pool and game room.
The pool and hot tub, the water in the pool should be boiling later in the day.
This is the nice shaded patio that adjoins the pool.
The office where they separate you from your money. Note the ore cars available to haul out the loot.

The rest of the day will be spent pouring copious amounts of liquids down my throat in an attempt to offset the effects of 110+ degree heat plus 20% humidity trying to suck the moisture right out of my body. This will be done from indoors while enjoying the good life.

  1. Hey John,
I am stuck waiting for deliveries also. At least it is a LOT cooler here. As I type this the windows and door is open with a bit of breeze coming through. We are only about 4500 feet here. Have fun. OFM
