Day of rest

Today will be a day of rest here in Lake Havasu. I took a short walk around the are this morning and  then read the Sunday paper. I did see in the paper the results from the Desert Shootout boat competition yesterday. The pictures of the boats I took in the last few days looked like many of the boats were made for speed. Well looks aren't always deceiving, The winner of the Shootout hit 175 mph in a 1 mile timed course. When I walked early this morning the lake was calm and serene.

I'm sure it will be different later today as activity picks up.I also saw a couple of flowers showing their morning colors. A lot of the flowers here close up in the afternoon to protect themselves from the afternoon heat.

Another reason for taking a day of rest is the buses don't run here on Sunday. Tomorrow I plan to ride the ferry across the river to the California side of the Colorado river to see what I can see. It's what you do when you're enjoying the good life.
