Sun's back

The sun is back in Zapata, but it is having to work to push through the clouds. The wind changed last night and is now coming out of the north and so far we have only been able to get to 46 degrees. This morning will be time for more inside work while watching for the thermometer rise to an acceptable level to get outside.

This morning we saw the first departure on Winterway. Jim and Nancy left us heading for Shelbina Missouri. Jim had to get back for calving time on his farm. They didn't seem too excited about the prospect of heading back to the Midwest, but duty called.

Tonight we are having a return performance by Tommy Helms in the rec hall. Tommy was at the park last year and did his Burl Ives show for us. He spends the winters in the valley and summers he preforms in Branson. Having the show tonight will relieve some of the cabin fever that has set in around here and has been driving everyone nuts, although for some it's not a drive it's a short putt.

Tomorrow is also pancake and sausage day in the rec hall. and a lunch to honor Sgt. Russ's  safe return from overseas, just a couple of more ways to enjoy the good life.
