Good day

Yesterday a good crowd showed up to honor Sgt Russ and his service to the country. A carry in was held  and the meal was rushed through to allow the fishermen to head for the lake.

Rhonda, Russ's mother, attacks a casserole with gusto,

while Russ enjoys a beer. As a reminder of where he had come from custom made bottle labels were made with camels on them and a reference to what role the camel played in the production of this beer.

Today is going to be the highlight of the week. We are already at 72 degrees and there is lots of sun to enjoy. Although Sunday's are normally pretty laid back I expect a lot of people will be out enjoying a rare day of warm temperatures and sunshine.

Tonight there is a charity pie auction at the rec hall. Proceeds go the kids charity. Last years auction saw pies selling for $250.00. I don't expect I'll be eating a pie, but it will be fun watching the bidding and people enjoying the good life.
