Places I've seen.
I take a pittance of time each year to watch your video, and shed tears in thankfulness.
Thanks Judy, it struck a chord with me too.
As always thank you John and all the Men and Women who have and will protect our Country
Serving on an LST was a great way to spend a tour in the Navy.My at sea time was all on carriers but I did get to land on an LST with a helo deck in the middle, Just enough room for an H2 I might add. Thanks John for your service. I enjoyed my Naval service. Sam & Donna...
It took a pilot that knew what he was doing to squeeze onto an LST. I too enjoyed my time.
From a shallow water sailor to a deep water sailor, thank you for your service, brother! Of course, on the boats and cutters I sailed, our number one priority was to stay OFF the beach! :cD
And our directive was to get on the beach...go figure.
Happy Vet's Day to you, John. Thanks for sharing the video and pictures. You're not so old...that photo of your ship is in color!
I'm old enough that they don't have LST's in the Navy any longer and my job, as a signalman, has been eliminated too.
Thanks for posting that video and for your service to your country. I hadn't heard that song before, it was nice and very meaningful.
Rick, the song was actually written for Remembrance Day, but the meaning is widespread, we owe so much to our veterans.
What a great video... thanks so much for sharing it!
It was my pleasure.
Thanks so much to you, John, and all our Veterans. I can smile, travel this country freely and enjoy my family and friends because the strength, courage and sacrifices of our Veterans.
Thank you, my contribution was minute compared to so many, I honor them.
I absolutely adore A Pittance of Time! And, will probably use it next year, on my blog. Thank you, not just for posting it, but also for honouring those who have stood for freedom. Blessings...
It's hard not to be touched by that song. It's been part of my blog for 8 years and there are different versions on YouTube.
