Tuesday
A nice calm day while we are waiting for the next front to arrive. A good day for visiting and an opportunity to watch Indiana fail on the basketball court once more. It pains me to see a team up by 10 points at the half lose by 11 points. That's a swing of 21 points in 20 minutes, where's the defense?

Wednesday
Well, today was results day at the doctors office and all is well. Blood values have held steady for the last 3 months which is always good to see.

A stop at Walmart to refill a prescription and I was told it would be ready after 2 tomorrow. When I asked if they were out of stock the girl said no that this is just the way it is, my question was since when can't you pick up a refill 30 minutes after you drop it off. She then proceeded to try to tell me it's always been that way. Something that I knew was not true. If this is their new policy to get you back in the store a second time I will be looking for a new pharmacy.

The front has arrived. At midnight last night we were at 71 degrees and this morning the front blew in with north winds at about 20 miles per hour and the temperature has dropped to 47 degrees. Another day of this tomorrow and then back to the 80's.

Thursday
After a chilly night it has warmed up a bit, but we aren't out of the low 60's and not where we want to be.

I made the trip back to Walmart this morning to pick up my prescriptions and I again benefited from affordable health care as I saw my co-pays double.

  1. Walmart pharmacy can be crazy. If Russ turns in an RX for syringes it takes them hours, and sometimes the next day, to fill the RX. Sometimes he doesn't want to wait and so just buys them at the pharmacy window out of pocket. No waiting! Explain that one Walmart!! Our supplemental insurance premiums took a big jump this year, "Due to the increased cost of medical services." Hmmm...wonder why!! Oh well, at least we're still on the right side of the grass.

    1. It used to be I'd drop off a refill, shop for 30 minutes and pick up the prescription on the way out the door. What's really silly is what I get is prepackaged in blister packs and they don't have to count anything, just pick up the packages and hand them to me.

  2. I do my meds through a mail order company, and my cost doubled as well. :(

    1. I would use mail order, but I travel so much in the summer it would be difficult.

  3. You should have seen a few of Ohio State's games this season. I think they were up by more than Indiana and lost by more than 20...disgusting!

I refill my prescription online. I tell Walmart when I will pick them up. It works great. They have your records online. Try it.

  4. I've been using Walgreens and quit getting pharmacy stuff at Wal Mart. They have a good notification system that will send a text message to your phone, or an email to your email address when a prescription is ready for pickup. Also notifies you when a prescription is ready to refill, and make it easy to respond. So far, I've been pleased with Walgreens, and they are a lot closer for me. Glad to hear your blood work was good. Shame to think you would go through all of that pain and torment for some bad results, John.

    1. I might use them here, on the road too many of their parking lots aren't made for Mel.

  5. I know when I call in a refill at our local Walmart, they first automatically give you a time later that day or the next day, but if you keep listening, you can press a button and ask for an earlier time... and press again for even earlier... so that really helps me figure out what time mine is ready and I can just drive over and pick it up.

    1. Karen, this is a recent development around here. Like I said I used to drop off a refill, do my grocery shopping and pick it up on the way out the door.

  6. I quit using Walmart some time ago. I also use Walgreens now. Just don't do auto refill and you should be OK. I used to use the mail thing but they constantly screwed up and I never had my meds. Good to hear all you blood work is good again.

    1. Maybe I should just quit using drugs, that would solve my problem...at least one of them.
