Week of 1/12/2014

Sunday
The week started out on a happy note with a Bronco win over the San Diego Chargers by a score of 24 to 17. Next week it will be the Patriots in town for the AFC Championship game.

Monday
Today the UPS man brought my new camera. It's a GoPro camera. It is a very versatile camera that can be mounted on the dash for pictures going down the road as I travel.
It was going to include a Quadcopter for aerial photography, but when it arrived it was not what I expected, After talking to technical support I found I was working under a misconception and there is no interface between the transmitter and the GoPro camera.

Other options for aerial photography are being explored.

Tuesday

Indiana had a big win last night as they handed the #3 ranked Wisconsin Badgers their first loss of the season.

Wednesday
The day started with a call from some friends from Zapata who were on the way to the flea market in Donna and wanted to meet a Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Couldn't pass up an opportunity like that.

Thursday
Nothing much going on today. I have been working with the GoPro camera trying to understand its features.

Friday
Windy today so there wasn't much activity in the park, I did take a walk around and visited with some folks, but it was a mostly quiet day.

Saturday
Indiana got beat at home so that put a damper on the day. The ladies of the park had a craft show in the rec hall which drew a good crowd. The wind is calm and we hit 81 degrees so it's been a good day if we eliminate the ball game.

  3. That new camera will be very versatile. You can get a helmet mount, and put it on your head when you ski dive, also when you base jump. You can mount it on your mountain bike handlebars when you're barreling down the mountains. Skiing would add a new dimension, too. It will be great for when you go para sailing. You can take some great photos from high up in an air balloon. Wear it while shooting through the white water in a kayak. Going over the falls in a barrel....oh, wait, you probably won't do that one. We will wait for all of the exciting adventure shots, anyway!

    1. We were discussing those very events today and for some reason it caused a large round of laughs. I guess the expectations that I'll be a participant in any of those events aren't too high around here.

  4. I have looked at a few of those drone copters that can come equipped with an integrated video camera. I think it would be fin, but I am getting some resistance from the boss:)

  7. Maybe you should keep that Quadcopter. You could make some extra money as a subcontractor with the NSA...
