Today ended up being pretty boring. No NFL football for me because Denver had already played this week. The highlight of the day was a new neighbor from another park. I had met these folks a couple of years ago and they were friends of friends from Zapata. Junior and Pama welcome aboard.
Monday
A trip to Pep Boys to correct the tire problem. Everything on the wheel was resealed and the problem was resolved. Pep Boys stepped up and there was no charge. A problem did develop when the mechanic parked too close to the curb and some damage was done to the front air dam when backing out.
Tuesday
A plan was hatched to repair the damage to PaT and a call was made to Pep Boys advising them to warm the staff not to park cars over the curb. Pep boys again stood up and told me to bring the car in and they would see if they could make things right.
Wednesday
Off to Pep Boys again and they got right on things and Pat is back together again. Again they stepped forward and there was no charge even though I was the one driving when the damage occurred. Retail 101, how to build customer loyalty.
Another new neighbor arrived yesterday as Roger and Donna got here and are in the same spot next to me as they were in last year.
Thursday
A trip to Walmart was the excitement of the day. Designed to lower the bulk in the billfold and it was highly successful.
The rest of the day was spent enjoying beautiful weather and the temperature made it to 83 degrees. Much more to our liking.
Friday
Today was road trip day. I was checking the schedule of various performers I wanted to see this season and one of them was the Greer Family, also known as Lindley Creek. Well it just so happens that they were playing at the Four Seasons park in Zapata. This is the park I stayed in for the first couple of winters and it was a good opportunity to visit with old friends and see a show. So off I went running the 200 mile round trip. Mission accomplished. I had a lot of nice visits and saw a good Christmas show.

Saturday
After all the activity yesterday, today was an inactive day. I did receive my bi-monthly mail and watch a couple of ball games, both my teams lost, but it was still a good day.
Tomorrow the days start getting longer, yippee!
Nice that Pep Boys did the right thing by you. Definitely the way to build customer relations and then you pass that info on and it spreads. I love your last statement - yippee is right.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it refreshing to see someone step up like that.
DeleteI had no idea that Pep Boys are so stellar. Good for them. We will use them, when needed.
ReplyDeleteAt least the one in McAllen is.
DeleteGlad the Pep Boys stepped up to the plate. Nice to know when we are traveling.
ReplyDeleteSo the entertainment season begins.
Pep Boys did well.
DeleteAnd we are off and running with the entertainment.
Great on Pep Boys! Wow, a place that still honors huh?
ReplyDeleteNeed to make the dreaded trip to WM today. I've been putting it off. Dreading the crowds, but need a few items.
Might just want to take a beating, it would be easier.
DeleteWell as it turned out, my check was declined! I will NEVER shop at Target again! My bank put a limit on my checking account too! Dang, gotta call them tomorrow....the guy at Walmart said, go home, get cash & come back. I glared at him & said I"m not coming back! Fighting the crowds was enough the first time around...
DeleteBummer, I hope it all gets straightened out soon.
DeleteGlad that PaT is up and running well again. How did you live without it?
ReplyDeleteIt's tough, I have to cut the number of trips to Walmart.
DeleteI'm glad you found a good Pep Boys. The one here are awful and I wouldn't go there if they paid me.
ReplyDeleteThe week seemed good for you overall.
Overall everything seemed to fall into place.
DeleteMerry Christmas to you, John. Now, don't go straining yourself too much over the Holiday.
ReplyDeleteThanks Russ, no strain planned, just going with the flow.
DeleteHave a great Christmas!
