Another day

Prep for getting underway is mostly complete, however the mail that was sent on the first of the month from South Dakota has not arrived, so we won't be leaving here until it makes its appearance. With the holiday throwing off the schedules who knows when that will be. Mail delivery to the park is after lunch, so when the mail does arrive it will be too late in the day to depart any way. Especially since I need a pantry/refrigerator run to Walmart and a gas fill before I get on the road.

Last night we were treated to a nice fireworks display that was held in the city park which is about 4 blocks away. We could see all of the aerial displays from our vantage spot right here in the park. It was a very nice show and I haven't heard of any parts of town that were burnt down.

Today it is considerably cooler than it has been with the current temperature at 81 and the humidity at 39%. We even had what appeared to be rain this morning, but there wasn't enough of it to be sure. This is a lot better than the triple digit temperatures we've been having and I might have to get out and take a walk. The cooler temps sure help in enjoying the good life.

  1. I enjoyed walking around the city park in Cortez, there are ponds and a lot of walking paths.

    1. What's worse is when they turn their fireworks on their citizens like happened in Simi Valley CA.

  3. A fireworks mishap in Seattle burned up 14 boats in dry dock - not quite a town but bad enough! Hope your mail arrives soon so you can get the wheels turning.

    1. That's awful. Terrible shooting. I'm off in the morning, but then some would say I'm off every morning.

  5. Cooler temps!! Did you do a happy dance? And no fires - more to dance about. And you get to roll in the morning. Not much better than that.
