For the full time RVers holidays are a good time to hunker down and wait until the dust settles. Last night here at La Mesa RV park every site was taken and there were a couple of late arrivals that just parked in the roadway. Surprisingly this morning the place seems to be emptying, but management tells me they are booked solid for the next week. We'll let the hubbub die down before we get back on the road. It has also surprised me that there haven't been more families using the park. I would think this would be a prime destination for giving the kids a little taste of history, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I have also been informed that this location is in the prime viewing area for the Cortez fireworks display which is held in the city park about three blocks away. It surprises me that it is even happening with the red flag, extreme fire danger flags flying, but I suppose they've done this before.
I also have to mention my graduating class of 1962 which is holding their 51st reunion tonight. Even though this year I chose a different part of the country to explore, I'll be thinking of you folks tonight and I know you'll be enjoying the good life.
