Another nice day.

Today the UPS man is bringing the last of my orders. It ill be the 10' extension for my Sewer Solution. For the three years I've used it the original 10' hose has been long enough. I finally have reached a spot where an additional length is needed so I ordered the 10' extension kit.

3/4" hoses are a lot easier to deal with the 3" hoses and I have been more than satisfied with the performance of the Sewer Solution and after 3 years there is no sign of wear.

Today I'm also going to work on setting up a rental car later in the week to do some touring of the area. We'll see how that works out. I'm sure it will be easier to climb to the Mesa in a rental than with Mel.

Cardinals/Cubs later in the day while enjoying the good life.

  1. Never heard of the Sewer Solution. I will ask Paul if he has and if so, why aren't we using it?

    1. Lots of advantages including a hose that doesn't have to be replaced every 6 months, no ladder to mess with and no moving parts like a macerator.

    2. I know that I'm pushing my luck by saying anything but my 3" sewer hose has served me well for over 3 years now. I think part of the reason for that is I never leave it hooked up and exposed to the sun. I use it to dump then put it away. I also have a macerator but have never used it.

  2. I'm also going to have Jim check into your sewer solution. Our macerator just died two days ago. So we need to do something.

    1. An RV repairman told me he wouldn't have a macerator because the impellers constantly get clogged and usually after the handle has been pulled.

  3. We have used the Sewer Solution ever since we started RVing (5+years) and wouldn't use anything else. We've never seen another at any campground we've been to, though. Never messy, clean to put away, easy to attach and detach. We recommend them to everyone we see. Yes, a bit pricey, but they don't much break down. Only warning, we agree that a person might want to get the extension, as there have been a couple of campsites where it wouldn't reach without the extension. Smiles

  4. Oh, and it doesn't need much storage space, either. Smiles

    1. I agree with all the above and I'm surprised I have never seen another one in use. A little over $100.00 on Amazon and all the parts are replaceable.

  5. No moving parts. Must make it easy to use for a guy that enjoys the good life by not moving too much himself... ;c)

  6. John, if everybody started using that sewer hose, we would not have any more funny RV stories about how they had problems dumping. Then what would we do?

    1. Oh I don't know, Cousin Eddie could still dump in the storm drain and blow it up. I red the package and there is noting about fixing stupid in the instructions.

  7. A rental car is a good idea for Mesa Verde. The parking lots at the cliff dwelling sites are not very big. You could drive the RV, they have tour buses up there. I drove my 24' RV up there on 2 different times, but could not drive an RV to one part of the Mesa.

    1. Thanks Teri, I appreciate your expertise. I had been up there in the 70's in a Honda Civic, but didn't think it would be all that comfortable in a 31' motorhome.

  8. My friends are heading up to Mesa Verde tomorrow. I hear this time of year it can get pretty darn warm. Have fun.

And I never heard of the brand sewer hose. May have to look into it.

    1. Got to about 99 today. Should be toasty.
The Sewer Solution is a lot easier to deal with.
