Plans made

I have made plans for my next move including reservations. I don't normally make reservations, but where I'm going is a big tourist area and I though I'd better get it covered. I'm not announcing where I'm going you'll just have to wait until Thursday and be surprised., but we are going to have fun.

This park that I'm staying in looks to me to be a wonderful opportunity for someone who would like to buy an RV park and make a business of it. The problem is that the folks who are currently in charge think the park should just run itself. Judging from the markers, there are about 50 sites plus a tent area in the park. They are right off  of exit 85 on I-40 in an ideal location for an overnight park. The problem is, in the 5 days I've been here I have seen management 1 time, the day I checked in. Overnighters show up, check themselves in and have no access to the codes for the showers or WIFI. Their website also shows laundry facilities, but they are located in the office which is always locked. A little elbow grease could make this a very nice park. Exit soapbox.

Today my project is to get my big camera charged up because there might be a photo op in the next couple of days and I want to be prepared to enjoy the good life.

  1. Sounds like you are headed to an exciting adventure. We've seen several RV parks that with just a little TLC could have been excellent parks.

    1. It's really sad to have all that money invested and not put in the effort to protect it.

  4. Oh, a mystery writer. I'm getting the itch to travel, but will stay put until the grandbaby is born. Maybe I'll be traveling in the fall.

    1. It will give both of you something to ponder for the next couple of days.

  6. Ah shucks, why not have a contest to guess your new location...sorta like "Where's Waldo" but of course that is not your name so I guess that wouldn't work.

  7. Donna says I'm way over the edge already, so I guess I can't wait there for the answer to your mystery. I'll just fly around in a holding pattern for as long as I can hold it.

  8. Well now, if you think this park is such a nice one, why don't you buy it? From the profits you will make, you can travel everywhere on someone's dime.

  9. That park description sounds like one in Jackpot, NV. I stopped at it three times to get some information and the office was never open. I could see that they had a lot of spaces available however but never could find out what they cost.

  10. Too sad. We've seen a couple of those type of campgrounds, including one in Mississippi where on check in, there were instructions and an envelope telling you where to mail your fee. Of course you had to supply the stamp!

    1. I wonder if you did not mail the fee if anyone would have known. If you were questioned, you could say you needed to buy some stamps. :)

    2. Come in late and leave early and I don't think they would ever know.

  11. Well, that's pretty annoying. I think you should call them up, and either ask the office to be opened so you can do your laundry, or ask for a refund of part of your fee. The amenities advertised were not provided. Bait and switch. :(

    1. You know the way I feel about laundry, it would probably be hypocritical to make a fuss over it.

    2. You could try leaving a big pile of dirty laundry by the door, and see if anything happened.
