Kingman...Day 1

I knew moving to the north was the right move to make After leaving the 106 degree heat of Gila Bend We have been able to enjoy the much cooler 93 degree heat of Kingman. We left Mel about 7 am and headed off to get a feel for the town. Here is some of what we saw.

While walking this morning we also had a nice chat with Tom Johnson a photographer from Los Angles who is in town on a project to document Kingman. An interesting fellow to chat with. While doing my walk about this morning I also visited three museums before the heat chased me back home. More about them tomorrow. The rest of the day I will be involved in keeping cool while enjoying the good life.

  1. I enjoy looking and taking photos of murals. They are all so different and tell a little bit about the surrounding land.

Did you need to put a sweater on after going from 106 to 93? That is quite a drop.

    1. So far I've avoided the sweats. And yes the murals, if done right, can sure put a lot about the history on one wall.

  4. No big deal about your picture, you already look good on the Wanted Posters in the Post Office.

  5. Now you're getting closer to Death Valley, where you can really enjoy the good life, John! PLUS, you're still moving in the direction of Oregon, and that's a good thing!!

    1. The name 'death valley' doesn't really lend itself to leading the good life.

  6. I'd really like 93 again. Hopefully it's cooling off for you at night. It's not here. But I sure enjoyed your pictures.

    1. That's the difference between here and Gila Bend, here it's dropping down to mid 60's a night, really good sleeping.

  7. Aren't the murals beautiful? Walking the town can be so informative.
You not going to head to Death Valley are you? It isn't called that for nothing. If you thought Gila Bend was bad.
That is a place to visit in the dead of winter.

    1. No death valley for me, at least not until they air condition it.

  8. Oh the nostalgic Route 66! Nice pictures but I am partial to the Atchison, Topeka Santa Fe Railroad one :)
