Second thoughts

Every good plan needs a moment of indecision and my plan to use PaT this summer is no exception. Last night my mind was racing with questions and the one that kept coming to the front was who would be dumb enough to leave a perfectly good 31 ' motorhome with kitchen, bath and large bed to travel the summer in a PT Cruiser. The answer finally emerged and it's me. It's not like I'm being forced against my will, it's more of a challenge and I always have the option of returning and retrieving the motorhome if things get too uncomfortable.

Yesterday was a full day of basketball and today promises to be more of the same. We will be starting at 11 am with Indiana/Illinois game and proceed from there. If Indiana doesn't win I'm sure I will hear it from my sister who lives in Decatur, of course, if Indiana wins I will be much kinder and gentler as only a big brother can be.

This morning I also spent time converting my Google reader over to Freedly, if you want more information on this check with Ricks blog, he wrote a nice article on this subject this morning.

Today my day is planned around the TV and it starts soon, so I am going to settle in and prepare to spend the day enjoying the good life.

  1. Kinder and gentler? Hard to believe that a rabid basketball fan like you could be so... ;c)

    1. Also older and wiser, but I'm still looking for confirmation.

  2. I use Freedly on my iPhone. It works great.

Watching the game right now. Going to be a good one. Such a nice big brother you are.

  3. It's the no bath and kitchen that would give me more than second thoughts. :)

  4. I couldn't handle the no bathroom. But there are lots of folks out there doing just what you're going to do. Should be an interesting challenge.

  5. Amazing how many times we need to think through all these things. I find my best ideas keep coming at night. I'm sure after you mull all this over, you'll come up with the perfect solution. And, if not ..... next year you can change it all around again.

    1. If it's a mistake, it won't be the first one and if I don't do it I'll always wonder.

  6. The good news is that you are in charge and can make any changes or revisions to your plan anytime to ensure maximum comfort and enjoyment. Don't let it keep you up at night!

  7. John, I totally support you in your new adventure. There is nothing that will happen that is impossible to recover from. You might have a miserable hot sweaty night somewhere but it likely is not the first time either. I am really excited about your plan and look forward to details once on the road, both good and not so good details. Have fun!

  8. Yup... should be an adventure! (but I like travelling with my own bed, toilet, shower, and fridge with my own food, thank you.)

    1. Me too, I've done it that way for 5 years, time to try something else just for variety.

  11. Your answer to Wandrin' said it could be a mistake. I don't think this challenge you are doing would ever be a mistake. If maybe you won't like it and then cut the time short - it's not a mistake, but a choice. Happy and safe travels.

  13. I second think every thing and sometimes I shouldn't. But like some of the others said and so did you it's a choice and it can be changed.

  14. I'm looking forward to following along on your PaT travels. I don't think you will have any problems except you will be doing it during the heat of Summer.
I did two 3 month trips, one Spring and one Fall, using a Teardrop trailer that did not include a bathroom, no kitchen, no A/C or heater - just a place to sleep, like your PaT will be. I had no problems while traveling through all of the Lower 48 states and racking up about 22,500 miles.
