Old dog

One if the 7 items that arrived the other day was a new laptop computer that I could travel with because I didn't think there would be room for my desktop unit. The problem, of course, is not only setting up an new computer, but doing it while learning  new operating system. Thus the 'old dog, new trick' syndrome.

We now have tiles instead of icons. Active and inactive tiles. The start button is gone and there have been enough other changes to give an 'old dog' a new headache.

So todays plan will be to work on setting up the new laptop while still making an attempt at enjoying the good life.

    1. It might be better if Gates and Company got one operating system working before they moved on to the next one.

  4. Take two aspirins chased by a margarita. That should help a ton.

    1. No touchscreen here. Just the old fashioned touchpad.

  6. I'll be hanging off on that Windows 8 thing for a bit. For one thing, I hate to change computers. It just takes too long and something always ends up missing. Lots of luck with the learning curve. I'm not ready for that either.

    1. Having been in the computer business since before Windows, I see changes just for the sake of change and no version has ever been fault free.

    1. Resist as long as you can. Nothing I've seen has impressed me.

  8. Good luck with the new computer. I just got an Iphone and am seriously considering throwing it up against the wall. Too much technology for me.
