Good news day

Yesterday turned out to be good news day and today is following suit.

Good News #1: My friend Roger has proven to be too tough for the hospital and the doctor sent him home yesterday afternoon. They never did determine a cause of his illness,  but he's working on a full recovery.

Good News #2: Indiana won their game against Ohio State yesterday. In the Big 10 this year any road game is a real accomplishment and when you do it against a team as good as the #10 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes you have really had a good day.

Good News #3: Tonight's entertainment at the rec hall is the parks own Tommy and Faith Helms. I saw their show a couple of years ago and it's a good one. Tom does a wonderful impression of Burl Ives that is spot on. Another part of the show will include Rich Bellert a cowboy poet. Looking forward to another fun evening at J-5.

The rest of the day will involve a concerted effort to watch time pass. Just another part of enjoying the good life.

  3. John, glad to hear that good news! Happy that your bb team was successful. Sounds like you will have another evening of great live entertainment there. You just never know when to slow down, but as long as you're enjoying that good life, why bother? Have a great day, and enjoy watching the time pass.

    1. At some point life will dictate a slower pace, but until then it's damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.

    2. Border Patrol using torpedo boats on the Rio there, now? Probably a good idea, given what they're up against.

  6. I can't believe your friend wanted to leave the hospital early. Didn't he enjoy the wonderful meals, massages and personal service?

    1. Not exactly a torpedo boat, but a custom river runner run by the state of Texas. Three 300 hp engines pushing a 50 caliber machine gun up the river. Pretty awesome fire power.
