Late Christmas

New Years eve brought the FedEx man to my house with a late Christmas present I gave myself. If you've been following me for awhile you remember last year about this time I bought a new office/recliner chair. Well a few weeks ago I noticed that the Naugahyde skins that had been sacrificed to manufacture this chair had dried out and the seams were beginning to split. They just don't grow Naugs as tough as the used too.

Last years model.

So I bought a new desk chair, with extra features. Push a button and it becomes a recliner suitable for emergency naps and pull a lever and it becomes a rocker recliner. This one is made of real cow so with leather dressing I should be able to keep it from drying out like the Naugs did.

This years model.

The old chair is being given to the park charity auction which is held in the spring, So there is still some life left.

Today is acting like Valley winter. Rain started about midnight and we've had 16 hundredths of an inch so far, enough to get you wet if you walk really slow. The current temperature is 46 degrees and all totaled up it equals a pretty miserable day.

Right now it's time to test the recline function of the new chair in an effort to enjoy the good life.

    1. I have always insisted on the recline feature in office chairs. Doing business can quickly overwhelm one.

  2. That doesn't seem like much rain, it has been raining a lot here the last 2 days, wonder how much we got, wonder if the rain will be noticeable in any of our ponds. After I get the dinette out of my rig, I will be looking for a nice comfy chair like that.

    1. So far it's more of a drizzle than a rain and I doubt that it will fill any ponds. Just enough to make things miserable.

  5. Nice chair! Hope you don't wear it out as quickly as your old one. Hate to think of all the Naugs that sacrificed their skins for nothing. ;c)

  8. You must have forgotten that they do make black duct tape, you know? Should fix just about anything in theory. Course, it makes a fashion statement that you probably would be uncomfortable with, but on the other hand, it might start a trend. You're usually on the leading edge, so you probably missed your big chance to become the next big thing. Oh well, fame is so fleeting. We can still say "we knew him back when, in the days before he even had a chair".

    1. The duct tape was just one of the many options I considered. I always thought the row of shiny silver staples look on black Naugahyde was quite trend setting. I spent so many years living in an abode decorated in early poverty so I opted not to continue that decor and went with the new. You did know me when I just had two couches. One in the coach and one out front.
