After staying up last night until 12:30 am to watch the last of the bowl games, today is moving in slow motion. I did make a morning trip to Walmart to refill the larder and other than that not much has been accomplished. Today I am on recovery mode and have decided to forsake NFL football because none of the games on today interest me. Tomorrow will require all my endurance anyway with the full schedule of college bowl games to watch, followed by even more New Years Day. Being a sports fan at this time of year is not for the weak.
We again are overcast (socked in) but we have climbed out of the 50's into the low 60's so we are making some progress in the right direction. Still not enough progress to play outside, but inside time is good for thinking about how to enjoy the good life. So it works too.
Good to see that you're pacing yourself, John. Moderation is tough, but it's a good indication of your mental fortitude! You are truly an outstanding role model. More people should recognize that, and start paying closer attention to you, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteI think I read that in a fortune cookie once, didn't believe it than either.
Deleteah, I have seen your Shoeless Joe comments on so many blogs! I just clicked on Travlin' with John on Janet's new blog and there you are!
ReplyDeleteI can NOT believe you don't consider the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins worth watching! seriously!
terrible
Hi Carolyn, welcome. I don't get those games. I am a full time RVer with the Direct TV RV package. My network feed are the east coat and the west coast feeds. I did get the Chicago game and the late game is San Diego vs. Oakland. I'm a Denver fan and can't imagine why anyone would want to watch Oakland. Now tonight's game is a different story. I will watch it.
Deleteoh, yeah... I mean Cowboys and Redskins are just legendary. Don't know how old you are but it would be great fun to revitalize that great rivalry we had (I'm Cowboys) in the 70s and 80s... George Allen and Tom Landry ... great stuff..
ReplyDeletelol... I'm with you about Oakland... I have never liked that team... maybe it was Al Davis ... I don't know just always seemed like bullies to me ...
Like the Broncos ... Dan Reeves was ours, y'know. I really quit watching football a few years back ... just not the same any longer BUT I will watch tonight! this is for all the marbles...
We made it to Mission and were greeted with the sun. Love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's a little warmer that Ohio too. We're going to even do better for you tomorrow.
DeleteNot warm enough to play outside? I don't even change from shorts to long pants until the temp dips below 40.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you need to cross the Rio Grande and go further south?
You're a lot tougher than I am. I'm not even tough enough to go to Mexico.
DeleteIt seems to me that it must be getting pretty close to the time for you to do the dreaded laundry task. Doesn't matter what the weather is for that. :P
ReplyDeleteJudy, you are right on. Monday or Tuesday laundry is a must. I've already got my quarters ready.
DeleteI hear we may be getting a few rainy days, good days for watching TV or some movies maybe.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy both and the rain sure wouldn't hurt south Texas.
DeleteBrrrr, baby it's cold out thar. Watching tv is considered healthy because why would one want to go out & freeze??
ReplyDeleteYou must be right sitting in a stuffy room watching TV must be healthy.
DeleteCrappy weather here today. Hope you enjoy all the games you are going to watch
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking my eyes might start squaring up looking at all this TV.
DeleteHow bout them Broncos, eh? My son has been a Denver fan for years. Elway was kind of his QB hero. Now, he's got to adjust to Manning. Looks like it could happen. Should be fun to watch, at least.
ReplyDeletelooks like they've got all the tools, but then again, any given Sunday.
