Project day

Today has been project day. I recently bought a 16'  Flag Pole Buddy kit and decided today was a good day to install it while the morning temperatures were relatively cool. Of course as soon as I got everything laid out and ready to start assembly the sun came out for the first time in 5 days and the temperature shot up to 84 degrees. This unit has brackets that attach to the ladder and once the hardware is set up the flag pole can be raised and lowered in seconds. Because of the proximity of the electric lines I am only using 12' of the 16' available. I didn't want to provide fireworks in addition to the flag display.

The view from the back.

I also have a flood light that will be installed for night viewing, although here I don't need it here because I'm 20' away from one of the parks security lights.

I discovered during all this activity that my body has a tendency to leak when exposed manual labor in direct sunlight. I still have a trip to Wal-mart on the agenda for today and I sure an infusion of liquids will be needed later to help to enjoy the good life.

  2. Good Job, I display ours whenever we have the trailer out anyplace.I have found the High Life Light contains all the necessary ingredients to replace all fluid loss due to heat or exercise, although I would use that exercise sparingly.Be safe out there. Sam & Donna...

  4. Would you send the sun and warmer temperatures to Georgia when you're done re-hydrating? :)

    1. Sorry Judy, I lost the sun again. It disappeared as soon as I got into the shade and I haven't seen it again. The warmer temps are on the way though.

  5. We added a flag pole a couple years ago but it was just something else we needed to put together when we landed at a park. We discovered it was easier to carry little flags instead of big flags. I'm thinking we're just getting lazy.

    1. I've had one of the PVC holders that needed to be assembled and pounded into the ground. This one just needs to be extended and put into place, should be easier.

    1. I made the trip and got enough to keep me out of there for a couple of weeks. Too many bad memories of the days after Turkey day from my time with JC Penney.
