Lesson learned

Yesterdays with the dash decal kit was a lesson learned. I should have had an inkling remembering my childhood experience with model kits that all ended up with crooked decals. Watching the installation videos convinced me that anyone could complete this job in about an hour. They didn't count on someone with the digital dexterity of a one-armed paper hanger attempting this feat. Nothing wanted to adhere even though the dash was clean. There was also a problem with all four thumbs functioning in unison and then there was the problem of which piece went where. With no markings on the layout to assist in placing the decals so after a couple of hours everything was folded up and set aside.

All these pieces were supposed to go somewhere. A lot of them remained a mystery.

I went out this morning, hoping a different day might make a different result, but quickly found this was not the case. Back to the computer we went and we have executed plan B which should happen next week.

I did get PaT's South Dakota plates in the mail today so we are now officially registered in my home state.

We have now moved in to weekend mode and have begun working the remote in order to enjoy the good life.

  3. Interestng and we thought about ordering a decal kit for the "Jag". Maybe that's not such a good idea. All the decals just might be crooked too.

  4. Guess you won't be carving your initials in that woodgrain after all. Sorry to hear that you spent so much time on it. I would have given it up after about 30 minutes or less!
