Damage control

This morning was a damage control type morning. It began last night when taking supper out of the microwave, a nice chicken Parmesan  with spaghetti dinner. On the way to the table the flimsy container buckled right after I had taken one step onto the carpet and according to Murphy's law  did a complete 180 and flattened itself in the middle of the carpet. This morning I am the cleaning carpet on the off chance that the tomato sauce and cheese will magically remove itself from the carpet with a little elbow grease. I have that dry carpet cleaner I bought a couple of months ago and after the first pass we are making progress. The second part of today's damage control was preventive maintenance on the tires. They were sprayed with tire protectant and then covered with the new covers I just got.

All dressed up and no place to go.

This afternoons project will be to go over the carpet a second time and maybe a third if needed. Remember Chicken Parmesan upside down dinner is not a favorite food, at least in this household, but I won't let it keep me from enjoying the good life.

  1. Oh dear what did you do for dinner then?

The tires look so nice all dressed up.

  2. Bummer, big time!

Tire looks nice, I just bought the same covers for mine. I only bought two - I figured only one side would be in the full sun during the day. I hope that will be right. :)

  3. Guess you had to clean up the mess cause the maid had the day off ?

  4. Nothing like Chicken Parm with a little desert dust thrown in for fiber content...

Mel's shoes look spiffy with those covers. Hope they fit better than the ones I have. It's a choice of crawling around underneath the MH to attach the bungee cords, or just hanging them on without and then chasing them down the street every time the wind blows. Either way, I get exercise, whether I want it or not! :cO

    1. Fiber is important.
The wheel covers have elastic around the top and their own adjustable straps on the bottom. I'm hoping the elastic is enough so I don't have to crawl on my belly to hook up the tie downs.

  5. Oh no! Taking that fall was certainly not a fun thing to do. I hope the cleanup was easier than what it sounds. The dinner sounded good but not after you stirred it up. Having animals around can be good things at time. They'd help you clean it up.

  6. I hate when that happens, hopefully you had another one to replace it!

    1. Me too, no replacement, just employed the 3 second rule to what I could salvage.

  7. Guess you could be totally pro-active and cover every possible exposed surface with plastic. Then you could just do a quick wipe up on just about anything. That does have a couple drawbacks...tends to be noisy and slippery.

Guess your best bet is still the maid. You might want to change her schedule, since she never seems to be there when you need her.

    1. The maid option is the one that appeals most. Maybe I need to review the compensation package.

  9. Good one Texcyn
Or the next time you have one of those types of dinners slide a pot holder under so you can support it with your hand from the bottom. Just my 2 cents worth.
Hope you get the stain out.

  10. I have seen those covers in RV's and yours is the first car I have seen with them on.

I know this is a dumb question...but what purpose do they serve besides keeping the tires clean?

    1. Actually those are on Mel and the purpose is to keep the sun from drawing the oils out of the tire and cracking them.
