About the hotel
The hotel that was an inland ship.
One of the major displays is the Plaza of Presidents which highlights all of the presidents who played some part in World War II
Significant only because this is the type ship I served on.
Some of the wall space devoted to plaques. No count was taken.
To give you an idea how extensive this museum is we haven't evened covered everything outside yet, more tomorrow. Now it's time to recover from a busy morning of enjoying the good life.
EGADS...how in the world did we miss the Plaza of Presidents? We will be back in that area and won't miss it the second time!
ReplyDeleteThere's an awful lot to see there. It would be easy to miss something.
DeleteI can't wait to see this museum, it's on my "Must-See-Or Else" list.
ReplyDeleteBet that LST picture brought back more than a few memories, eh?
I have seen many, many museums and this is one of the better ones. Well laid and thought out.
DeleteThe 'T' did bring back a few memories, with that flat bottom we could even get shallower than you Coasties.
DeleteDon't forget that 'everybody is somebody in Luckenbach'. I do love that little city!
ReplyDeleteWillie, Waylon and the gang aren't home anymore.
DeleteHaven't been there, done that either. Can't believe we didn't. We'll have to add it to our list.
ReplyDeleteIf you're like me the list keeps getting longer than shorter.
DeleteNice to see the rain finally quit so you could get to the museum. Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice day and there are well over 100 pictures of the museum and town.
DeleteThe submarine rising out of the ground was not finished when I was last there. Maybe you can get a pic of it for me.
ReplyDeleteYour wish s my command.
