Some success

The placing of the address post yesterday was met with mixed results. At sunset a bright lighted address post greeted passers by. This light lasted until about nine pm before dying a silent death. I think the fact that the battery had been buried in the dark under the couch for more than six months might have had an affect on the batteries ability to hold a charge. If the battery is still good we should get better results today as the battery gets more charge. My neighbor is having a similar problem with his solar address light.

On and fading.

This morning I was checking Amazon for replacement batteries and ran across an item that baffled me, it was a

HYBRID SOLAR POWERED FLASHLIGHT WITH EMERGENCY BATTERY BACKUP.

My first thought was wouldn't a solar powered flashlight need sunlight to work and wouldn't a flashlight be unnecessary if you had sunlight. This might be the 'one's born every minute' product of the year.

Today is an evaluation day. I will be watching the address post to see if it is properly charging. Results tomorrow. All of this while enjoying the good life.

  1. We recently went to Costco and purchased 20 AA rechargeable batteries for our solar powered yard lights. The daylight recharges them during and they are less likely to corrode. It cost us just over $40. It's nice for my husband because it will be a long time before he has to change those batteries...and they aren't the easiest to change.

  2. You live your life on the edge of excitement...watching to see batteries die. :c)

    1. You can't imagine the excitement nor would you believe the crowd that gathers.

  3. HHMmmm well I hope it charges up for you. Don't get over excited though. You sure know how to have fun.
And the add for the flash light sounds very strange indeed.

  4. You're having waaaaay too much fun, for a guy in mourning for his team! Watch the NFL game tonight in London, England. That should add something to your vocabulary.

    1. Fun is my middle name. I don't know if I will be able to break away from watching the battery drain to watch any TV tonight.

    2. Just as well, I was mistaken about that game. The one in London will be on Sunday. It was Minnesota getting stomped on my Tampa Bay on tv last night. You can still see the game in London! (assuming you have any desire to, of course)

    3. If it's football, I'll probably watch it.

  5. Very interesting about the flashlight...never thought about it. Hope the additional sunlight today will do the trick.

    1. Just my take on a solar flashlight. I would probably feel the same about concrete life jackets.
