Great reunion

Yesterday Cousin Nancy out did herself. We had a super get together. Relatives I had never met and relatives I hadn't seen for 40 or 50 years were in attendance. Altogether I think there were 14 of us in attendance altogether and the day passed way too quickly.

This morning I got up and decided to have a serious travel day. 300 miles later and I am in my winter home in the J-5 RV Park in Mission Texas. I traveled so far that my credit card company contacted me about irregular activity. I guess  something is triggered when you make two credit card purchases 300 miles apart on the same day.

The rest of the day will be spent recovering and getting ready for tonights playoff game. Another way to enjoy the good life.

  1. Uh-oh 300 miles in one day, you know what that means. Oh well, you don't do that very often. Sounds like you had a grand reunion...now your ears can get some rest while you enjoy the good life.

    1. Donna, be sure not to say anything to Paul. The reunion was a blast. Always nice to meet and be with relatives.

  2. It probably helps to run up the miles that there is not much worth stopping for once you get south of San Antonio until you are near the Valley. You have a nice location there at J-5 so it should be a great winter. Have fun.

  3. Ha Ha Ha! I see my influence is spreading via the Internet! :c)

Actually, you have become a destination traveler like me. I like to push to get to where I want to be. Enjoy your stay at your winter home.

    1. All I can say is busted. Now we have to decide whether you are a good or a bad influence.

  4. You can hold the Title for now but I'm sure that Paul will get it back from you soon. Problem with those long driving days is hat it makes you too tired to Enjoy the Good Life! Be Safe!

    It's about time.

    1. Yeah, but when you get there you have more time to recover.

  5. So glad you had a wonderful time with the family.

We have had our bank contact us several times for irregular activity. I think that is a great feature. When we were doing our NW tour, I contacted the bank, told them where we were going, and asked them to add those states as OK states. They appreciated the phone call and heads up.

    1. I agree with you on the credit alerts. I'd rather hear from them than read about a problem on the statement.

  6. We've had the same thing with the credit card company. If they can't get through to you, they'll deny the next purchase so you can call them. Believe me it's embarrassing when it keeps saying "denied, denied" and you have no reason why. Now we will only use it for one gas purchase a day on long travel days. If we need another fill-up, it's either American Express or cash.

    1. I have had them mark my account as a full time traveler, explained to them tat I have the only card and that it is very likely I'll know if it comes up missing. We'll see what happens.
