Checking things out.

Yesterday I spent a little time checking out my new ride and came up with a few discoveries. The first one was that once the drivers door was locked it could not be opened with the key. To open the doors I had to put the key in the hatchback and turning it would unlock all the doors. An interesting concept, but not very convenient. The second discovery was in the truck and no it wasn't a dead body.  They told me the delay in getting to car to me was because they were having the air conditioning fan replaced, what I found was the engine cooling system fan, so apparently they had no idea what was being fixed, but created a story with partial information which was incorrect.

Bonus trunk surprise.

Today we are again in the weekend mode and even managed to sleep until 9 am with the cooler temperatures. Overnight low was 58 degrees, but we are beginning to warm back up after the cold front has passed by. As always in the weekend mode, there is a full slat of football to watch while enjoying the good life.

  1. you are way too easy to get along with. I would be at that dealer's door on Mon. a.m. and from there I would go to BBB and then to police if I didn't get any answers...has there been a robbery in the neighborhood. That looks from here like a fan out of someone's window!!! I guess you don't know if the dealer if 30 mi. away...have a good day. Maybe I should have signed this anonymous. lol

    1. No, it's the engine fan assembly which was replaced. They replaced a fan, just not the one the salesmen said.

  2. If Paul saw those fans, he would be having a fit. I know he would have driven back to the dealer to find out what was going on. But, it everything is working to your liking, so be it.

    1. It's more a case of misinformation from the salesmen who did't know what was going on, so they just made up something.

  3. Had a Mercedes 190 that operated that way, but it worked out great for me because I normally put my briefcase in the trunk and then all four doors were unlocked.

    1. Being retired I am no longer allowed to carry a briefcase. Just part of our code.

  4. Looks like you are well on your way to starting a fan club.

  5. As long as when you step on the gas it goes, and when you step on the brake, it stops and not visa versa, I think you're gonna have fun bopping around in your new wheels.

    1. So far that's been the case so far, lets hope it continues.

  6. I think you need to have a discussion with the folks who wold you the car. I'm hoping you left reviews for others to see.

  7. Kind of concerning that there are 2 fans in the trunk. Did they first try a used one that was also broken? How nice of them the give you the job of throwing them out. What an outfit.

  8. I'd check into that door thing. Not a very safe issue if you need to get into the car quickly. And it's quite an inconvience needless to say. I've rented a couple of PT Cruisers in the past & all doors worked the way they were supposed to...and there were no engine cooler fans in the trunk. ;-)

    1. You got short changed if you didn't get the complimentary dirty engine fan, I must have gotten yours, cause I got two.
