Better today.

Yesterday afternoon I received a very apologetic phone call from Javi. He explained that he had been called away from work on Monday in response to a call that his 87 year old grandmother had been rushed to the hospital and had been with her since then. He let me know he had given my information to Henry at the dealership and asked him to takeover getting the car to me. Henry called 20 minutes later letting me know he was now my contact person and they were working to get the car to me, but they did find a fan not working and have ordered one that will be in Friday. He promised as soon as the fan arrives and is installed he will get the car to me. I know lots of you out there are skeptical from the comments you've sent, but I'm willing to accept their statements for now and we'll see what happens on Friday.

This mornings project was digging out of storage and installing my solar address post. If you are wondering why such a simple project would take a good part of the morning then you have never had the pleasure of digging a foot deep hole in what passes for soil around here.

Lot 59 has been addressed.

The next thing will be to find out if the battery, after being buried in the dark for six months, will take a charge. I still have to install the flag and the flood light, but I'm waiting for the park to give me the go ahead so I don't plant the flag in the septic system.

Temperatures are still running in the 90's and we are waiting for them to diminish just a bit so we can more fully enjoy the good life.

  1. That's a mighty fine project result, there. Digging yourself a hole is never any fun. 59 is a good number...I fondly look back on it in my life, anyway. That will be a very sunny addition to your good life.

    1. This project is primarily for the UPS man so he can find me to bring me the goodies I order. The first one might be a new battery.

    1. Actually with my black thumb, plants would die between the nursery and here. I am planning the purchase of a lawn chair this year when it gets a bit cooler. So see I'm evolving, nothing inside yet, though.

    1. Don't want to overdo it though, too much stuff makes it difficult to enjoy the good life.

  4. I'm not a nester so our space is pretty barren. I did buy a patio set because I loved the rocking chairs. Jim puts out more stuff than I do. I always think about having to put it all away when we are ready to go someplace. Good luck with the car.

    1. My problem is where to put it when I travel. One of the advantages of having a small motorhome is that keeps you from acquiring too much stuff.

    2. We actually have a year round lot here in AZ that we just come and go all the time. We put a small shed on it and the patio set stays there.

    3. That seems to be what is evolving here. I took the first step this year in renting the lot year round.

  5. You should have enlisted Javi to help with your sign, seems he's pretty good at digging himself into holes.

I'll tell Guido to unpack his bags... ;c)

  7. I have never heard of a solar address post. How did you know it would be #59? Can you only use it there or can you change the number for different sites? I know nothing about this.

    1. It was earned with credit card points and there are 3 complete sets of numbers. Have address post, will travel.

  8. When I read the part about "solar address" I at first thought you had moved WAAAAY out there! Glad gravity kept its grip and you are not circling the sun waiting for the UPS delivery guy.

  9. Nice solor address. I understand about the putting to much stuff out. I did that at my other trailer. And then had to get rid of some much when I down sized. This place is simple with 2 chairs.

  10. I like your sign post. I don't put out much more than a camp chair, I don't have much storage space, either.
