Yesterday was a mixed day. First cousin Nancy picked me up and we headed to Blanco for lunch. We found a little restaurant that was located in what used to be the town hardware store on courthouse square. We then took a little tour around town which doesn't take long in a town of 2,000 folks.
The one building that I found interesting was the old movie theater which is the stone building that resembles the Alamo across the street.
Another piece of business from yesterday was the information about the courthouse babies.
The list and my rather meager claim to fame.
The old courtroom, looks pretty good for a 125 year old room.
After lunch it was back to Mel for some football and to watch the thermometer begin its plunge. The temperature yesterday never did get out of the 60's and when I woke up this morning it was 47 degrees. Much too cold for somebody with ultra thin blood. Today we have baseball (Cardinals) and football (Broncos) to keep us entertained for the day. Tomorrow promises to be warmer and warmer will help me better enjoy the good life.
27 when I got up this morning.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't believe how fast I would be leaving if I were there.
DeleteNot as cold as Kenny and Angela but we're going to be teetering on the freezing mark tonight. Totally agree that cold weather makes it hard to Enjoy the Good Life! Be Safe.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
In the last five years I've seen a below freezing temperature 1 time, that was enough.
DeleteEven with your temps I would be moving further south much faster. I just don't do cold anymore.
ReplyDeleteI'm committed here until Thursday, but I'll be pushing south after that.
DeleteGoing down to 31 tonight here in Ohio. BURRRR! We had South on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteFriday is my day to head on to Mission, but by then it's supposed to back in the 80's here.
DeleteThat is some claim to fame, you were born in the courthouse in either 1937 or 1964?
ReplyDeleteCan I pick one?
DeleteHow cool is all that info. That old building is being well cared for .
ReplyDeleteI think when it was a theater it was called the Alamo.
DeleteIt's going to be down to about 39 here tonight but up into the 70's tomorrow. Didn't realize you were so famous.
ReplyDeleteInfamous is probably more accurate.
DeleteI couldn't read the list of names but I assume yours is among them? And here you are, still holding court...
ReplyDeleteMy name is on there, I assure you. And court is held here daily.
