Last night about 7 pm the skies opened up and let loose as a thunderstorm spent about two hours pounding us. My rain gauge reported 1.97 inches of rain in a two hour period. The rain was accompanied by some serious thunder and lightening and one of the work campers reported a lightening strike near them that took out one of their TV's and their Direct TV box. Sorry there are no pictures of all this activity, but contrary to popular belief I do have sense enough to come out of the rain. According to the weatherman we have more of the same in store for today.
Little difference will more rain make on today's schedule. There is an afternoon ballgame which will keep my attention for the rest of the afternoon. So let it rain and we will still be enjoying the good life.
Look at the bright side all that rain helped wash the dust off Mel. Just make certain that it doesn't wash off with Mel. Be Safe and Enjoy the Good Life.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
It did settle the dust alright, of course when it settled it was several blocks downstream.
DeleteI saw on TV that you got hit pretty good and more on the way. I feel so badly for those people that got hit. Glad you were inside; lightening is nothing to play around with!
ReplyDeleteMore on the way, but I've got a pretty good lightning rod out the back door, 200+ antenna.
DeleteAt least with all that rain, any fires started by lightening would be drowned out.
ReplyDeleteWhen it rains it pours. :c)
You are so right, not much chance of a lightning fire last night.
DeleteIf you see a Kit Companion floating by its me I'll be waving or screaming one of the 2.
ReplyDeleteWe'll guide you into the landing area.
