And the group grows

After a brief rain shower yesterday afternoon, things quieted down and and we had a very quite night with an overnight low of 61,  which made for good sleeping weather.

At this mornings meeting of the minds we were rather surprised to have Loren join us. We had heard he was to arrive tomorrow, but he and Marilyn were ready to end their two months trip to Alaska and Loren joined us this morning at the problem solving session. It is good to have another mind involved to take some of the thinking pressure off Clay and I. They made the trip in a jeep pulling an A-frame travel trailer and really had a good time, other than one event with a tornado at the beginning of the trip which left Marilyn with a broken wrist.

Yesterday someone asked me about lightning and we are in a pretty good situation here. You see there is this pretty good sized lightning rod  in the neighborhood that is defending me. I have seen lightning hit the tower a couple of times, but it's doing its job as defender of the little folks.

Mel nestled between the two trailers.

Somebody to the west was getting hammered.

Today's agenda is void of any ink so we will just have to play things by ear and see what develops. One thing for sure we will be enjoying the good life.

  1. Couldn't you find a more travel sized lightening rod to carry with you, at least this way you know you'll be Enjoying the Good Life.

    It's about time.

    1. I found it's easier to move from rod to rod rather than take this one with me.

  2. That rod is huge. I didn't know they had to go up so high.
Hope Marilyn is doing much better with her wrist.

    1. This one might be a bit of overkill, but it works. Marilyn has the cast off and is back up to speed.

  3. Ouch for Marilyn! Lightning rods huh? So I'm guessing that lightning is common for the area & they use the rods at campgrounds as a precaution? Educate me here please. Thanks.

    1. We have a fair amount of lightning around here, but what your seeing is a huge radio transmission tower, which does a fair job of attracting lightning.

    2. Ahh, thanks. You need to go where there is no lightning or hail or any kind of bad weather. Mel needs to heal!
