Today it was time to make a visit to the Walton family store and replenish the pantry. I was clever and waited until today to avoid the weekend crowd, the problem was so did everyone else. I knew there was trouble when the call went out over the PA system for all available cashiers to the front. When I arrived at the checkout I picked the shortest line an was number eight in line. Of course, when I got in line it immediately stopped, part of Murphy's law, I think. They finally moved me along and were more than happy to flatten my billfold.
Now that that task is done we can spend the day visiting and enjoying the good life.
Dang that Murphy -- Murphy be gone!! Wonder if I put that label on canned air, if I could sell it?
ReplyDeleteWith your encounters with Murphy, you should be your best customer.
DeleteI HATE grocery shopping. I barely have five bags and it amounts to $100. That is ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteI think of it as getting stronger, when I was a kid it took me three trips to carry out $15.00 worth of groceries. I can now do it in one hand.
DeleteYou were visiting the Waltons?? Goodnight, John Boy!
ReplyDeleteGoodnight all!!!
DeleteI went to Costco the other day and only bought lemons and avocados. They looked at me like I was crazy and darn near kept me in the store until I had spent the requisite $100.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably next on the agenda, minimum purchase before the doors open to let you out.
DeleteI just don't like close encounters of the grocery kind.
ReplyDeleteWhen the grocery stores go on-line I'll be the first customer. So I agree.
DeleteYes I can't believe the total at the register. I can't stop staring at my bag.
ReplyDeleteMy family of 4 had a food budget of $15.00 per week just starting out. I think that's my daily budget now.
