The waiting game.

'The waiting game', that is the name of today's tune. It would be so much better if the parts were on hand, the repairs were done and I could be on the road, but that is not the case. Instead we will practice patience and while away time until the parts get here. I have been using the computer to refill my bucket list of places I would like to see and things I would like to do. When I finally leave here I will be able to plan a route and then I will go to my bucket and pull out things to see and do along the way. It is amazing all the things there are to see and do in this country. Each town has its story to tell, the reason for its existence, the notables who have passed through, its claim to fame and maybe even their ownership of the worlds largest ball of string.

So the time is not wasted, but it is used as a planning tool to enhance enjoying the good life.

  1. I'm finding the history of towns more fascinating now than I used to. And the architecture as well. I hope you can go grab out of your bucket soon!!! Instead of having it flipped over, sitting on it...

  2. We're both sort of sitting on our buckets right now.

  4. We agree with you Shoeless...there is so much to see that we can't possible do it all. Even when we stay a month in one area, someone will write...Did you see such 'n such...NO, we answer. How could we miss that place when we stayed in an area and entire month?

    1. So much to see, so little time. One of the good things about the blog is the ability to see a wider range of site through others eyes.

  5. And...after you have visited...these places can add one more "notable" to those who have passed through! Waiting builds character, and also helps build fishing stamina. Just ask Barney.

    1. I'm probably already enough of a character without adding to it and the Groton Fisherman and Mrs. Paul have all the fishing stamina I need.

  6. Do you know where you will be come October? Your sisters are thinking about coming for a visit. I have already started looking at airfares but not doing anything until we know if you are up for a visit from us.
