Return to quiet.

Well the weekend warriors have all departed and headed back to their homes and quite reigns supreme here at Cedar Cove. Elephant Butte is the largest lake in New Mexico and each weekend the town doubles in size (at least) as people drive hundreds of miles to come dip their toes in the water. I'm sure they are nice folks, but they can sure disrupt the serenity of this place. With all the commotion they bring it is sometimes hard to concentrate when  your are busily engaged in doing nothing. The advantage still goes to the seniors though because while the weekend warriors have to return to their careers on Monday we are free to finish doing nothing.

Today's schedule lists no activities except the daily memo to listen for the phone to ring hopefully bring news that the parts have arrived and we can get on with the repairs. If that doesn't come to pass soon I might have to make a return run to Chloride and do some exploring. It' been a couple of years since I've been there and it would be fun to go back. Exploring ghost towns is certainly a way to enjoy the good life.

  1. Elephant Butte is one of favorite spots. We saw the most amazing moon rise there. If you want to see what I mean, check out our link

  3. Amazing how when you were working you hated to see Monday come, but when you're retired, you can't wait for Mondays!

  4. I have discovered "noise cancelling earphones", and find that they are a great help when I just want to sit back and listen to my Kindle Fire while other things are going on in the background. As an aid in enjoying the good quiet life, I'm happy for all the help that I can get.
