And the wait goes on.

No word yet on parts so the wait continues. This mornings visit with Clay produced some interesting reading material that will help pass the time. He has loaned me a book on the history of the Alaska Railroad which I immediately began to read and only put down long enough to do the blog for today. When I pick it up again in a few minutes I probably won't put down until after I finish it. I am hooked on railroads and railroad history so this should be a good read.

I also did tank maintenance this morning and am pleased to report the sensors are still working like they are supposed to. Now that I have my chores done I will sit back, pick up a good book and enjoy the good life.

  1. That looks like a very interesting book. I'll have to look it up on Amazon. Maybe you can ship it to me when you go back to work, huh?

    1. So far it's quite interesting Russ. If I was ever to go back to work I would consider shipping it to you, but the owner might object.

  2. Love railroads, they are really interesting. To think all the technology that went into them over the years boggles the mind.

Especially fond of Steam engines, just glad I didn't have to lube all those moving parts, or shovel all that coal. I'm a wuss. ;c)

    1. I used to be involved with a one foot gauge steam railroad in St. Louis. Shoveled coal by the spoonful, much easier.

  3. Our friend, Sandy, also loves railroads. I think you would enjoy reading this post she did not too long ago.

  5. Thanks for the book recommendation. Don't tell Russ but I may just have to surprise him with it. (see, I can be nice to him!!)

As to your title, I can only say the weight goes on a lot easier than it comes off!!

  6. Looks like a fun book. We sure were disappointed that we didn't get to ride the rail when we were in Newport, WA.
By the way, how is the railroad software going? Have you built any railroads yet?

    1. I enjoyed the book. The railroad software has just been sitting there. I think building RR's must be a winter project.
