Shopping time

Once again it was time to fill the pantry and empty the billfold, so this morning it was pack up Mel and head down the road. The exhausting journey of two miles was taken and then I ran up and down the aisles figuring out ways to empty the billfold. I did find out that I'm still gaining strength as I can now lift $100.00 worth of groceries at one time.

I'm now back in the park watching the thermometer rise. We've already hit 90 degrees so this afternoon will require my attention on something indoors.

One thing noticed on last nights walk was the amount of damage last weeks hail storm did to some perfectly healthy plants. Here are a couple of examples.

Pretty well shredded.

Also there have been crews in the park picking up leaves that were knocked out of the trees. Below are some of the bags that were filled from a couple of trees. Someone is going to have one heck of a compost pile.

Another day of enjoying the good life is on tap. I hope your day goes well, too.

  2. I know what you mean - it's been in the 90s here, too. I'm loving the mornings, but the afternoons, whew! I've got the fans on, the window covers on, the shades down, and just taking it easy. Around 5 or 6 seems to be the worst time, then it starts cooling down. At least sleeping is easy.

    Try to stay cool! :)

    1. I agree, mornings and late evenings are tolerable and, so far sleeping is fine. Middle of the day just a bit toooo warm.

  3. Won't tell you the temp but it's comfortable with an open jacket, and night time has frost on the windows.

Getting out still a way of Enjoying the Good Life.

    It's about time.

  4. Yikes, I imagine you are getting a little anxious to move on. So far, so good here. It's been getting into the mid 80's this week, but the humidity has been lower this week. I'm trying to take advantage of it as I can. And nights are still cool enough. But that will all change soon, very soon. I'm glad your a/c is fixed now.
those storms sure did shred up the cacti. Pity.

  5. That hail sure did a number on those plants. Tell ya what...it was about 65 here today...looking at your 90 and thinking...if we could split the difference, we would both have nice temps. How about it??
