Christmas is closer

After 5 departure scans from the Mcallen post office my mirrors have finally arrived in Mission. The arrival scan shows they were too late to make todays delivery, but maybe Monday we can finish up the Christmas season and only 4 days late. Good job USPS. (heavy sarcasm)

Yesterday we enjoyed another weather event. More golf ball + size hail hit the area yesterday afternoon along with a quarter of an inch of rain. The 'event' lasted about 15 minutes and to every ones surprise we seemed to escape any damage. It sure was noisy for a while though.

During the height of the storm there was lots of hail on the ground.

It was also hard to see very far.

That tree is only two site over from me.

15 Minutes after the storm I went out and retrieved this little ice gem which was typical of what was falling.

Needless to say we relieved that with ice this size bouncing off Mel there was no damage and we can continue on enjoying the good life.

  2. Wow those were not little hail stones there. Did you ever find out why USPS kept coming up as departed from Mcallen

    1. They sure make a thump when they hit the fiberglass roof. As far as the 5 departures, that's a head scratcher.

  3. Wow, that's a big ice ball there! Glad no one seems to have damage from that. We got the storm & heavy rains, but it didn't last all that long here. Fortunately. A friend lost her ebay account due to USPS. They didn't get her packages to the other parties when they should have, so she got strikes against her & they banned her! Doesn't seem fair to me.
So hopefully by next Mon or Tues, Mel will be back in one piece again!

  4. OMG - I've never seen ice like that fall from the sky. It must have been scarey, I can't believe there was no damage. You sure have big storms there. I guess I'd rather have the heat here in AZ, at least it won't damage my motor home. :)

Hope your package arrives on Monday.

    1. This is the exception around here. In 5 years I have not seen anything like it and this year we've had it twice.

  5. Man O man, I would not want to be in an ice storm like that...well, I don't imagine anyone actually WANTS to be in one. Glad there was no further damage. Hope you get your package on Monday and that they don't scan for departure and send it to...say...Salt Lake City or some other hub for redistribution!!

  6. I'm so happy this storm didn't bring any new damage to you or any of the other homes in the park again.
So when is your next Dr. visit so you can get out of there. Maybe your pkg and Drs. app. will come together in time.
