Yesterday's park auction appeared to be very successful when what arrived as one man's junk departed as another mans treasure. As I said yesterday, and was seconded by several readers, auctions are no place for the weak of will. My staying home was a testament to my will power or lack there of.
Today there is very little scheduled in the park as the season begins to wind down. Several folks will wind up there Winter Texan season in the next couple of weeks. Some will even leave early enough to catch that last winter blast and then will wonder what possessed them to leave so early. Happens every year.
One thing about this park that is unique to other parks is the summer get together. The original owners of the park were from Iowa and many of the first visitors to J-5 were also from Iowa so they decided to meet back home each summer for camping and a get together. The park down here even participates by providing meat for the cookout in the north.
Today the wind has stopped and the temperature is in the mid seventies so it looks like a good day for some strolling and visiting while enjoying the good life.
