Grocery run

First thing this morning we woke up to the rain hitting the roof. We ended up with a tenth of an inch all in about 30 minutes of intense rain. Then it was done for the day. Net result...it sure is humid today.

This morning was a grocery day and it got off to a shaky start. After unhooking all the utilities and pulling in the slides I eased myself into the drivers seat, turned the key and heard the dreaded click. Yep, dead vehicle battery. First job, start the generator and allow the coach batteries to begin charging the vehicle battery. After a 30 minute delay Mel was ready to go. Wal-mart was more than happy to accept my cash in exchange for a fair amount of groceries. They were stowed and then it was time to return to J-5 which was done without incident.

So we are back in our site with everything plugged back in and are in the mood for an afternoon of watching the clouds roll by while enjoying the good life.

  1. You have to remember to give Mel's engine a quick start every few weeks so that you can keep Enjoying the Good Life.

    1. Not sure what brought the battery down. Mel was fired up and run to the store about three weeks ago.

  2. We've got a dead battery on the Toad and can't seem to get it to charge. This looks like $$$ to me!! Glad you and Mel had a nice outing once he got going.

  3. That is always a bad sound. I better remember to disconnect Mom's little run away battery. I had someone asking about her yesterday but they said she was to old and the engine to big. I wasn't very sad about that. hmmm
Glad you made it to Wally world and back with out further problems.

  4. I let my van sit too long. Now it has a totally dead battery. I think it's probably time for a new one. The Motorhome is iffy when I crank it over. Although the battery on it will need to be changed out before long, I think it needs an ignition tune up or something.
