Damage estimate

Things around here are slowly returning to normal after Thursday nights storm. Power came back on for this part of the park about 3 PM yesterday afternoon, not everyone is lucky, another section of the park and the office is still without power this morning. This morning the in-park RV repairman stopped by to provide an estimate of the damage. For those who don't know a 45 minute hail storm will cause about $400.00 worth of damage. Results of the survey show: 1 bathroom skylight, 1 air conditioner shroud and 2 marker lights. Just short of my $500.00 deductible which will save filing a claim. A good thing to keep the rates down. Parts will be ordered Monday and repairs will be Tuesday or Wednesday.

One more picture to illustrate the intensity of Thursday's storm. This picture comes from the Mission Monitor newspaper.

Looks like a winter blizzard picture, doesn't it?

One other item that took a beating the other night was the outdoor parts of my weather station, so much so that none of the outdoor readings have worked since. Having grown accustomed to instant weather readings a new Weather Station was ordered from Amazon yesterday to get me back up and running.

The rest of the day will probably be spent watching the cleanup continue as we work our way back to enjoying the good life.

  4. Holy Moly!!! That was some storm. I'm amazed that your damages weren't worse. They are not tough fixes thank goodness! But it's so surprising on all that damage around the park.
