Better, but

Woke up to a much better day today, but when I checked the weather page on the internet I found we were under a wind advisory for the day with 30 to 40 mile and hour gusts expected. Of course this changes my plans for the day as I was expecting to go to the Wal-mart in Kingsville for groceries, but I choose not to drive 80 mile round trip in the wind if I don't have to.  Mel actually tracks pretty well in the wind, but why fight it if I don't need to? Besides the Schwan man is expected around here today and he can provide enough rations for a day or too. At least the sun is back in the sky and we are back into the mid 70's.

This mornings e-mail brought a message that moved me and I though I would share it with my readers. It is so appropriate to remember this man during the Christmas season.

My mail should be arriving today, that and waiting for the Schwan man will make for a very full day of enjoying the good life.

  1. I do Andrea, I have a Kindle for the computer and have a pretty good collection of mostly history books, probably more than a lifetimes worth.

  2. Thanks for sharing the video with us. Hope was a great man and did much for the troops and it was from his heart. Bless him.

I hope the Schwan's man brought you some wonderful tasty goodies today.

I have been thinking about getting a kindle. It sure would save lots of room and weight. I have quite a collection of books and they also are history, mostly southwestern. About how much do the history books run?

  3. Hi Jo. I haven't sprung for a Kindle yet, but I went to Amazon.com and they have a free app that you can download that works like a Kindle for you laptop or PC. Books run from free to $10 or $12. A lot of the books I get are out of print and the current one I'm reading is the The History of the Military Occupation of the Territory of New Mexico. It was written in 1909 and it cost me $1.00. Try the free app first.

  4. Thank you, Joe, for reminding us of a great man who was so aptly named "Hope". Tears still pouring down my face. He was one of a kind.
