Happy birthday

Today Mel and I start our fifth year together. On October 22nd in 2007 I went to Des Moines Iowa to take delivery of Mel. and start our life on the road and we haven't spent a night apart since. During that time we have traveled 29,182 miles and we have visited 28 states together. We have visited state parks, national parks. museums of all types, ridden trains and taken tours. We have driven the back roads of America where people live and listened to their story. During that previous 4 years the best thing we have done is to meet some of the nicest people in the country. One thing we haven't done is to get tired of the adventure and we are looking forward to many more years of exploring this great country.

Yesterdays scoreboard didn't go too well. Of the four teams I was watching by early evening three of them had been hammered to submission and then the Cardinals came on and did some hammering of their own. Before the evening was over the Cardinals had beaten the Rangers 16 to 7 and Albert Pujols had a monster night hitting 3 home runs and driving in 6 runs. Only two other players in the history of baseball have hit three homers in World Series history. They are names you might recognize, Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson. I just hope they saved something for tonight.

Today we will continue in the weekend mode while enjoying the good life.
