Go Cardinals

Wow! 10 and a half games out of contention on the first of September and now we are going to the world series. Unbelievable  comeback is about all you can say. It should be fun to watch starting Wednesday. The 'experts' don't give them much of a chance, but the 'experts' have been saying that since the first of September. We'll see.

Continuing my journey down here last week. We have finished Monday and on Tuesday we rolled into Sanderson, Texas. It was a short driving day so when I arrived in Sanderson I had a little time to drive around and take some pictures of the town.

This is the Sanderson depot. Constructed in 1883.

Sanderson still has Amtrak service and has the distinction of being the least used Amtrak stop in the country.

The town of Sanderson owes it's existence to the Southern Pacific Railroad. To read more about the railroad history Click here.

An effort to save the depot is under way.

The old bank building across from the depot.

 A really small house.

Another view of a really small house.

 The local Catholic church.

The corner in front of the Catholic church. Don't let the ACLU know about this.

Just as I'm finishing this writing the thermostat, which is set at 80 degrees, has kicked the air-conditioner on. The outside temperature is showing 85 degrees and it's 11:00 am. I'm guessing it's going to be another hot one. Activities will be limited to enjoying the good life from inside with the air running full speed.

  1. I can tell you are not at all excited about the Cardinals.

Glad to hear they will restore the old Depot. Nice little town.
