Gullys are washed

Yesterdays prediction of precipitation in the afternoon developed into a real authentic gully washer. The end result was one half inch of rain which is not an exceptional amount of rain to fall on Mel, but when you are in a part of the country that doesn't accept rain very well a half inch in a short period of time can cause all sorts of problems. Neither Elephant Butte nor Truth or Consequences has made any provision for water runoff. Instead the attitude is a couple flash floods a year sort of cleans out the arroyos. Yesterday was one of those days. The rain did lower the overnight temperature and we bottomed out at 56 degrees, that made for really good sleeping weather.

This morning most of the problems of the world were solved as Clay and Sharon and Ken and Loren and I gathered at Clay's place. If folks would just pay attention to what we have to say the world would benefit greatly.

Today will be the big exodus as this is the day that Clay and Sharon and Ken and Phyllis relocate to a different level of the park which is the gangs winter home. The plans have been made, the route checked, and the GPS's dialed in and all that is left is the actual migration itself which will occur when the participants steel themselves to the journey of just over 1,000 yards. My participation in all this activity will include staying out of the way.

Not much is planned for the rest of the day other than sitting still and enjoying the good life.
