Deliver or not

This morning I'm awaiting the arrival of the UPS truck to see if my package is on board. I ordered a different model replacement police scanner for the one I returned on September 5th. I paid for two day delivery and it was scheduled to arrive on the 8th. On the 9th I contacted Amazon to let them know the order had not arrived and asked them to check on the delivery status since the tracking information showed the package had just left Illinois at noon on the 8th. Amazon was on it right away and refunded my shipping plus they gave me a $15.00 credit on my next order and promised delivery by the close of business today. The package did arrive at Socorro New Mexico at 4:00 am this morning. However, the arrival scan was the last activity on my package. Normally there would be an 'out for delivery' scan when it left the warehouse on the truck to be delivered. In the absence of this scan we will just have to wait patiently (fat chance) to see if we are delivered or not. If it does arrive today that will mean it only took 8 days for a two day delivery.


This morning also saw the departure of Barney who has been my neighbor for the last couple of weeks. He developed a severe case of hitch-itch and pointed himself back toward Texas.


The rest of the day will be spent in the watchtower looking for the UPS man while enjoying the good life.
