I am beginning to settle into Cedar Cove and this morning I took a short walk around the upper part of the park. I understand that a rattlesnake met his demise on the lower level of the park this morning, but I missed that show. I did get a few pictures around the park this morning though. The park is decorated from one end to the other with various pieces of rust from days gone by. In this part of the country with it's mining history and low humidity things that have been abandoned last a long time in the desert sun waiting to dissolve. The owner of the park has captured some of his findings and returned them to the park for everyones enjoyment.
This old truck sits on a little gravel mound right behind Mel.
An early farm instrument designed to spread the wealth.
An ore bucket on wheels.
An old pump of some type.
A really big and heavy cereal bowl.
Things are quiet around here this morning and it looks like the heat is going to return today. I won't be going far because I'm waiting for the wagon train (UPS) to bring my supplies. So today I will be enjoying the good life with one eye cocked toward the trail.
"Old pump of some sort" looks possibly like an old Water Boy gasoline engine....
