A walk down main street.

We moved location for the next group of pictures from the industrial area to the business/residential district.

A small residence. Notice the trellis on the side of the house. Grape vines were a part of almost every home in town.

A larger home.

A stone building. The stone was quarried locally. Also note the clapboard fence. Another part of almost every home in Amana.

An important part of any community today would be the Chocolate Haus.

Another old home turned into a business.

 A private residence.

Most buildings in town showed this type of pride of ownership.

 Another private residence.

The General Store

The store complex itself.

 A closer look

The toy shop which was a separate part of the General Store. They also had a Christmas shop in the back of the building.

Today's activity has been carefully planned and I will be doing nothing, but listening to a bunch of yapping dogs. Show dogs seem to be just a little high strung. Not to worry though, we will still find a way to enjoy the good life.

  1. I love the old wood that has turned grey over time. Nice little town.
Hope the dogs leave you soon.
