Another wine and cheese shop that has been around awhile.
Another major industry in Amana was the clock and furniture company. Both of these businesses are owned by the Amana Heritage Society and are still in operation.
The factory is in this building.
And this is their showroom
Another view of the factory.
This is another wine and cheese shop and in the back is the iron and cutlery works.
An old barn that has withstood the test of time.
Some of the stalls.
Word of advice to fellow RVers, if you like to sleep in the morning (like after 6 am) do not go to an RV park where they are having a major dog show. Last night about 50 RVs descended on the place and even though they are a few rows from me it was still pretty apparent that they all had a wake up call in for 6 am this morning. The dog folks are using one of the large buildings about 75 yards away for their show. Most all of the group seems to have as many dogs as they can fit into an RV and when they are not showing the dogs are busy yelling at one another from their outside pens. I'm currently hoping this is a one day event.
Today still looks like another good day to stay out of the sun and to enjoy the good life.

Thanks for the new pics. I would love to visit the wine and cheese places,:D
ReplyDeletePlenty of chances here. It seems every other business is involved in some type of wine, cheese or food business.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun touring Amana with you and Mr. Canon, looks like a nice little town. We love dogs and cats but either with bad manners is no fun. It sounds like a nap might be part of the good life today.
