This mornings task was to head to the Winegard repair shop in Hiawatha, Iowa which was located at the Ketelsen RV dealership.I got an early start and arrived at 7:00 am only to find that they didn't even start work until 8:30. After the doors were opened it was still another hour before Brian, the Winegard specialist, was available. An hour later the satellite was pronounced fit to travel and we headed back for our last day in Amana. On the way back I ran into rain and by the time I was back in my spot and hooked up it had become a steady rain that looks like it's going to carry on most of the day.
Now on to the last of the pictures from the town of Amana. Tomorrow I'm planing on taking a bus tour of the other 6 Amana's to see what I can find.
This is the church that was the foundation of life for the folks in Amana.
Because of their simple lifestyle their churches had no adornment, stained glass or steeples.
An old brick garage.
This old hay barn serves as the visitors information center.
Another old barn was converted to a quilt shop.
This barn serves as an event center.
One of the two theater companies in town.
Another private residence.
Everything in town seemed neat and well manicured.
This is the old creamery which has been converted to the second theater company in town.
The rest of the day has been called off on account of rain, but allowing the good life to proceed will be allowed.
